San Diego commercial real estate investment firm announces plans to enhance the 60,000 square-foot office building in Rancho Bernardo

(San Diego, Calif.) October 2019 – San Diego-based commercial real estate investment firm SENTRE announces the acquisition of West Bernardo Corporate Center, an approximately 60,000-square-foot free standing office building located in Rancho Bernardo.  The property was purchased from a private seller for an undisclosed price. SENTRE represented itself as the buyer.

Located at the highly visible and trafficked intersection of Bernardo Center Drive and Camino del Norte with immediate access to Interstate 15, the 82% leased office building neighbors many of San Diego’s largest employers including defense contractors Northrop Grumman, General Atomics and BAE Systems; corporate and world headquarters for Sony Electronics and Petco; and additional technology companies such as HP, Broadcom, Cymer and Intuit. Tenants encompass the technology, design, construction and food and beverage industries and include Microchip, Garden Fresh Restaurants and Interior Logic Group while the area offers executive housing as well as walkable retail and dining.

Located in one of San Diego’s top corporate research markets and innovation hubs, the property offers 24-foot ceilings, an abundance of natural light and expansive views from offices elevated above street level.  SENTRE will immediately execute on a substantive business plan designed to increase curb appeal and tenant experience. These plans include an overall rebrand of the property, improved signage for the building and its four tenants, drought-tolerant landscaping, creation of private outdoor patio spaces for each tenant, and the addition of an art mural and directional signage at primary entrances.

“The Rancho Bernardo submarket has long represented the core for corporate users in the San Diego region. We believe West Bernardo to be among the most unique assets in the market, unrivaled in it ceiling heights and open creative feel for users of all types, and we are eager to further invest in creating a one in a kind office environment,” said Doug Arthur, President and CEO of SENTRE.
